A great book. A good book to read to understand Islam. Which, of course, must also begin with reading the Quran itself.

I loved this book. This book has a lot to teach the 21st century about what we have lost, why we are where we are, and what the future will be if we continue.

Meh. I know many people love Pema Chodron. But this book is a bit too unrealistic for dealing with real uncertainty. Such as: How will I deal with this impending homelessness? How do I move forward with this diagnosis? It isn't as easy as reading 108 short snippets. Sorry.

Major problem: Author ascribes a major event in the Bible to the wrong passage. This isn't a typo and isn't a minor error in the scope of what the event was. This leads one to believe he didn't actually read the entire Bible, but picked out passages he wanted to dissect. You simply cannot do that with the scriptures of any religion. You must read the entire book to fully understand the inner meaning as opposed to the surface meanings which people get way too wrapped up in and which may be parables of a more mystical teaching. He simply did not do his homework. sorry.

Read this book and put it into practice. The path is not for everyone, but it is open to everyone. Walt Whitman will show you the way. One of the best Zen books ever written---because it doesn't know it is or claim to be.
