I generally prefer superhero books to be more about the character and less about the fisticuffs. However, this book was so much about Miles Morales & his adolescent troubles that the Spider-Man element felt completely tacked on. In fact, I think it would have been a lot better if the character had been a regular teenager and not Spider-Man at all. For a story firmly planted in the Marvel Universe but full of great characters and a well-developed plot, watch "Spider-Man: Homecoming" instead.
