Months after the defeat of Setrakus Ra, the remaining Garde are forced to join an academy to hone their skills and hopefully one day use them for good.  Unfortunately, with great power comes great responsibility. A saying that some of these children do not fully understand. They use their new-found abilities to wreak havoc and assist those who are intent on gaining wealth and power. Now these young Garde must learn from their mistakes before it is too late! At first I didn’t really want to read this book, since the Lorien Legacies was really terrible (aside from the first novel.) Fortunately, my curiously got the better of me and I decided to give this book a shot. Halfway though, I found myself actually enjoying this novel. The beginning was kind of slow, and the point of view shifts could be confusing at times, but once you get used to it, the book becomes kind of good. - @Vaseline of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library I can’t find the words to explain how amazing this book is! Pittacus Lore’s follow up series to the Lorien Legacies books is off to a great start with Generation One. The story revolves around familiar characters from the author’s previous books along with new and interesting faces. Not much of the Lorien Legacies cast returns, however, this new group of heroes surely makes up for it. I’m sure many fans of the Lorien Legacies series are skeptical about Generation One, but I assure you, it’s still filled with the same content; action, adventure, humour, sarcasm, mystery, aliens, and powers beyond our abilities. I too was worried, but the more I read, the more I really enjoyed the creative and unimaginable storyline. I found that the story started off a bit slow, but after that, I couldn’t put the book down with all of the cliffhangers and excitement at the end of every chapter. With the end of one problem came another equally intense and exhilarating one so you’ll always be engaged and never get bored. Generation One is definitely a must-read. 5/5 stars. - @demi.god.on.a.mission of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library Generation one is a perfect beginning to an electrifying sequel series by Pittacus Lore. I rate this book a four out of five. This book has all of the previous books humor, action and danger. This new age of Garde is led by Taylor, a kind and brave girl who wants to be normal not extraordinary. So when she gets caught up in a power struggle between good and evil she needs help from her friends. This book introduces a new antagonist force which is as powerful as the previous villains. You will not be disappointed in this new generation of human garde. I definitely recommend this book. @thelastboyreviewer of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board
