Diana is a fabulous writer and a wonderful researcher. It is true that most the the stories in this book were previously published but they were not easy to find. As I have read the Outlander series over and over and often found things I didn't find the first or even third reading, reading a novella again is no hardship. It should be noted that there are two new stories at the end. A Fugitive Green is about Hal Grey and how he came to marry his second wife. Readers will remember him as the man who sent a wounded Jamie home after the Battle of Culloden. We meet him many times as the books evolve because he is Lord John's brother. The second novella is about Lord John and is set soon after his Zombie experience. Each of these stories enhances the readers knowledge of supporting/lesser known characters. If one feels the author is just making a money grab and is insulted by this, read something else. I have happily been reading books by Diana Gabaldon since they were first published and will continue to do so.
