Review by Kennedy, a teen at North County Library: "Chick is a fourteen year old old boy who is forced to live up to his father’s expectations throughout the story. Due to the stress from those expectations, he compulsively writes lists to organizes his thoughts. Throughout the story, Chick’s father plays an emotional toll on the family by pressuring them to be perfect and after realizing this, his father decides to better himself by seeing a counselor. Tol shows Chick’s development and how he gains more confidence by getting a girlfriend and his father’s changed actions. Chick is a relatable character to many teens who also feel that they have to live up to someone’s expectations. His interactions with his girlfriend and father make the story interesting and believable for readers."
