I've been trying to read the Andy Carpenter books in order and this was the next one for me to read. After being introduced to author David Rosenfelt through his book "Dogtripping" (which is still one of my most favorite books I've ever read" I started on the Andy Carpenter books. I have enjoyed them all. This one starts with a carefully planned theft of a mixed breed dog from Andy Carpenter and his partner's Rescue Shelter. Now who on earth would steal a dog not worth anything monetary wise AND was up for adoption anyway? Well, that starts Andy, his wife Lori and his pack of "detectives" off on a pretty wild murder mystery. As is often or even usually the case, there is a person wrongly accused of murder and Andy is reluctantly defending him. I love this entire series....though I agree with the commenter who said maybe not one of the best in the Andy Carpenter series but the ending made up for it. Maybe I should have given it 4 stars instead of 5....but I sill loved the book.
