Tiny

a Story About Living Small
May 01, 2018funpanda34 rated this title 3 out of 5 stars
This indie documentary follows Christopher Smith, who upon approaching his 30th birthday purchases five acres of land in the Coloradan countryside and decides to build his own Tiny House on wheels. Accompanied by his girlfriend Merete Mueller (who also wrote and directed the film) Christopher slowly but steadily brings his dream to realization, despite battling financial setbacks and far-exceeding his original goal to complete the house in three months. Sprinkled throughout the film are interviews with six other Tiny House owners who explain the reasoning behind their choices and why it is they are content to live in 200 square feet or less. Viewers who are unfamiliar with the Tiny House movement may find themselves wishing for more detail on the building process or information concerning the legalities, but in the end the heart of the film’s focus is the people themselves, not the walls that surround them.
