Now he's the subject of a true-crime documentary that's whipping up a frenzy online to uncover the truth and free a man who has been wrongly convicted. A thousand miles away in England, Samantha is obsessed with Dennis's case. She exchanges letters with him, and is quickly won over by his apparent charm and kindness to her. Soon she has left her old life behind to marry him and campaign for his release. When the campaign is successful and Dennis is freed, however, Sam begins to discover new details that suggest he may not be quite so innocent after all. But how do you confront your husband when you don't want to know the truth?

The beginning was excellent. About two-thirds through, the plot lost steam. I had to keep reading until the end though, because you always wonder, did he do it? Recommended on the podcast, "My Favorite Murder."

The story had a few interesting twists, but honestly as a woman I was not impressed at how daft the lead female protagonist was depicted when it came to evaluating the moral character of her boyfriend, then husband, whom she took up with while he was incarcerated. I found the story plodding at times and really did not enjoy this book. I do know that there are women like this, however, there are better things to read about.

A psychological thriller about a woman who marries a man in prison for murdering a little girl. He is released after being proven innocent, but what about the other missing girls - is innocent in those cases too? A great premise for a book but unfortunately it didn't follow through. It was just too hard to try and believe the storyline. I would give this author another try.
