I was expecting more of an intellectual movie but instead ran into lots of campus sex, drinking, drugs and petty bickering...as much between black female students as white students. I was not shocked by the sex but felt it just wasn't that important to the story that I thought would be told. After seeing season 1 I felt it should have been rated R. The library copy says "No Rating" but Imdb and Netflix rates it as an R. I'll have to pass on Season 2.

This show is powerful and funny. A perfect satire on a timely topic of racism. Looking forward to season 2.

This series is a beautiful and witty depiction of the intercultural relations evident in current day middle reform. Series tackles the issues of identity through labels both self imposed, societal pressure and living up/down to dominate cultures expectations. Watching may open eyes of any people group to different concerns.

The concept is excellent. The production is poor. The acting is poor. The characters are cliche.
The story is slow. The female lead character's value is overly connected to her relationships with men. This is unfortunate.
Give the video a try. Using a simple Eye, you might enjoy it.

Witty, well written and sharply accurate regarding the current state of race relations in this country. As an African American I found the scene that introduced the different types of Black Student Unions groups eye opening. Mamy people, including African Americans, group African Americans into one box but we are not homogenous. We are the same and yet very different. Extraordinary series. Great addition to the original movie. Looking forward to season 2.
