Through poetry and prose, the author shares his memories of his adult life so far, from Wisconsin to California to Hawaii, from 1969 to present day. An escaped mid-westerner, Gibbons enjoyed living life outside the box in the San Francisco Bay Area during the 1970's, a wild ride that included drugs, sex, sailing, and crossing paths with Alan Watts and Jean Varda in Sausalito. He moved to Willits and became a father, then returned to school to finish a teaching degree at Sonoma State. He continued to enjoy the freewheeling culture of Northern California in the 1980's, including a short stint as a teacher in the Sonoma County schools (leaving after 5 years due to a lack of enthusiasm). His anecdotes cover his varied exploits as a marijuana grower, a runner, a biker, a lover, a father, a carnivore and poet and writer
