I typically do not bother to respond to others' comments and opinions, but in this case, I think I need to at least address the idea of 'hype' around this show. The purpose of this show is to educate through empathy, and it is done through quite a masterful perspective by positing the characters as typical people, now placed in a totalitarian world in which, much to everyone's surprise, did not take long to construct in our contemporary times. Hence, having to live through such a tremendous shift, wherein one day you are jogging and getting a latte to the next in which you are property of a system and others control all of your movements and even your body, is nightmare that everyone, no matter what gender you are, must face and endure. Take no hyperbole from this - this is a difficult display to stomach, but as speculative as this 'tale' is, it is something that we are currently seeing in both whispers and obvious signs around that this is not so much fiction but a stage of possibility that could happen in our lifetime. The show, for all its tragedy and horror, is a tale of struggle and hope, and how we can rise from it.

I can't rate this. Definitely not my taste in a series.

I'm not sure what the hype about this series is about. It's good, but does not really tickle me as much as the hype.

Excellent adaptation of the Margaret Atwood classic novel.

Terrific vehicle for Elizabeth Moss (Peggy Olson, in Mad Men).
