A fun photographic look at the legendary club where disco and decadence ruled the New York City scene in the late 1970s. All kinds of photos and scrapbook pages help to capture a bit of what it must have been like to have been a part of this crazy scene, where whoever was anyone in pop culture at the moment seemed to find their way into the glittering glamour that was the world of Studio 54, and nobodies never made it past the iron curtain of the velvet rope. This book also serves as a nostalgic look at the celebrities of the day, your Mick Jaggers and Liza Minnellis, Kennedys, Brooke Shieldses and Michael Jacksons, and raises the question of how and why Bianca Jagger ever became famous for being famous. I am knocking off one star from my otherwise stellar rating because the book is so darn heavy it makes it hard to hold.
