I'm not the hugest fan of Lisa Kleypas' earlier books (though some of them I do like!) and this is the perfect example why. The back and forth between the hero and heroine got tiresome, but the nail in the coffin for me was a "forced seduction" kidnapping scene at the end that was really troubling to me. (Were it not for that scene, honestly, I would have rated this at least a half star higher, and possibly a full star.) The world of the theater that Kleypas creates is actually quite interesting, and a very good backdrop to all the drama--I'm sad that one scene at the end had to kind of ruin this book for me, because the rest of it, while not spectacular, was enjoyable enough.
