"They were born after 1995. They grew up with cell phones, had an instagram page before they started high school, and do not remember a time before the Internet. They are different from any generation that came before them. They are one in four Americans. They are iGen. And they have arrived."--Book jacket

This book talks about the new generation, those born after 1995. The book's subtitle, "Why Today's Super-Connected Kids Are Growing Up Less Rebellious, More Tolerant, Less Happy - and Completely Unprepared for Adulthood and what that means for us," tells us in a nutshell what the book is about. The book is aimed at parents, educators, and employers of this generation. I am none of the above but I found the book informative and interesting regardless. The book starts out on a dire note telling us about the kids' usage of smartphones and how it is affecting their behaviour. However, the ending, "If they can shake themselves free of the constant clutch of their phones and shrug off the heavy cloak of their fear, they can still fly. And the rest of us will be there cheering them on," strikes a positive note. All in all a worthwhile read if you want to understand the iGen and what makes them tick
