"There's something about the disappearance of a beautiful young attorney--she leaves a Georgetown restaurant after a dispute with her husband, and is never seen alive again--that grips television news producer Virginia Knightly from the moment the 'MISSING' notice lands on her desk. A brilliant producer, but also a tormented soul and an isolated workaholic, Virginia--the only woman of power at her station--has an instant and eerie sense of connection to, indeed becomes obsessed with, the haunting eyes of the unnamed woman in this grainy photo. Despite skepticism from her peers, Knightly suspects this ambitious young lawyer may be at the heart of something far more sinister, which prompts her to abandon-- only momentarily she tells herself-- her producer role to go back into the field to investigate just what happened to Evelyn Carney. Risking her career, her sanity, and perhaps even her own life, Knightly dives deep into the dark underbelly of Washington D.C. only to find it's a place where politics and business restfully, sometimes criminally, collide-- a place where ambition can be lethal") -- Provided by publisher.

For this genre it's a pretty good read. A missing woman that catches the attention of a female producer of the news from one of the tv channels in Washington DC. So she is the one who uncovers the mystery surrounding the disappearance. Not to take away from the good read I did observe that all women were totally the most beautiful women ever seen & the men extremely attractive also. The producer must have been one of the beautiful ones 'cos there were a couple of those extremely attractive men that could have been about to fall in love with her & then the others wanted something less meaningful from her. That doesn't distract much from the rest of it though.
