Writer Greg Rucka had an extended run on the title some years before the New 52 reboot, and this is the first volume, collecting a one-shot featuring Diana on the opposite side of a moral issue with Batman, before moving into the regular series itself. Her ambassadorial role and her book provide some of the context for this first volume, as a new adversary, driven by envy and jealousy, begins to make moves against her. Rucka has a good take on the character, as well as those around her, and it shows throughout this collection.

Great story, but artists do still draw Diana as, you know, Wonder Woman? This is best read with emphasis on Rucka's writing over the diverse and (obviously) talented artists' contributions. Well worth the time if you are any kind of fan of the character.
