A moving and inspiring factual drama about the pioneering work on radar by a little know team of scientists in the run up to the Second World War. On 26 February 1935, Robert Watson-Watt demonstrated for the first time that aircraft could be detected by bouncing radio waves off them. By the time the war began in 1939, radar stations were dotted along the British coast, tracking aircraft at distances of 100 miles away

Rated 8/10. Good telling of the birth of radar. Afterwards, I read a biography of Robert Watson-Watt. He had an interesting life after where the movie ends.

According to this movie though, he had a son with his 1st wife, but could find no mention of him.

Either way, check out his bio on Wikipedia. Good reading.

A little draggy in parts, but not a bad story

Not sure how historically accurate this is. Probably not a lot. But it gives you enough flavour of what these people did, and what in the way of bureaucracy they were up against, as well as the prospect of the Nazis and their Luftwaffe.

Cast includes Eddie Izzard, Julian Rhind-Tutt, David Hayman and Alex Jennings. Tim McInnerny plays Churchill. It seems at least half of British Equity has played Churchill by now. I'm waiting for Kathy Burke to give her rendition of the old boy sometime in the near future.

I liked this very much & was surprised I'd not had even an 'inkling' of this after all my history lessons. I felt it was well acted, well put together & I did leave it wondering how their lives went on. Some other history book for that I suppose.

Eddy Izzard is such an interesting person; always like David Heyman & rather nice to see him with a bit of hair & playing more of a good guy character. He's a diverse actor & I enjoy his speaking voice. Julian....always a pleasure to see him.

Well acted flick about the development of technology versus political stumbling blocks. I liked it.

It's good, educational and interesting but slow indeed!

Bit slower than imitation game but similar premise

Learned a lot but found it a little slow. Otherwise a good movie if you enjoy based on true events.
