A heartwarming account of the trials and triumphs a hummingbird rehabber encounters while caring for her tiny, fragile patients Before he collided with a limousine, Gabriel, an Anna's hummingbird with a head and throat cloaked in iridescent magenta feathers, could spiral 130 feet in the air, dive 60 miles per hour in a courtship display, hover, and fly backward. A biographical book on the ins and outs of running a non-profit rehab facility for hummingbirds. The book is full of personal detail on what is involved in caring for hurt hummingbirds as well as about discovering details of these little birds' nature. Lovely read from an author that cares deeply for this species of birds and gives the readers the chance to learn more about these beauties.
