This book picks up where the last book left off, with more people arriving from the colony in space. Every character has to come to terms with the morally questionable actions they have taken in the past. The adults from the colony arrive, and immediately make changes. The original 100 are not willing to surrender what they have created on Earth. The plot is fairly simple. The love stories are rushed. Glass seems like she’s in a different book than the others. The ending is abrupt. But overall, it’s a fast-paced novel with a great set up, philosophical questions about what constitutes unjust actions, and thoughts about what humans will do in order to protect themselves and others.
