For some reason, I found this book extremely hard to get into. I forced myself to finish it, and I still do not know what the problem was. The writing seemed to take a long time for anything to happen, and none of the characters were especially well developed. The craziness of the teacher seemed as of it would have been discovered prior to her hiring, or at least while she was there. The boarding school setting was somewhat intriguing, but it really should not have been set in modern times. I'm not sure if I'll read the sequel. Maybe it will be better?...

This is a cute series-opening children's mystery set at a boarding school in England (these are all things I enjoy, so I was pretty much guaranteed to like this). It's set contemporarily, but it has an odd sort of timeless quality to it that makes it feel like it could have been set 50 years ago, too, which is interesting. I liked the main character and really enjoyed the boarding school setting, and will definitely be reading the sequels.
