The book is beautiful and kept my 3 year old's attention but the text is a little lackluster in my opinion. I agree that is is rich vocabulary but maybe a little too rich, it takes away a bit from the photos. I also agree that it is coffee table quality. Might be good for an upper elementary poetry study as an example for the writing process.

Colorful close-up photos of wet plants and insects, with a small animal here or there. Lyrical text and rich vocabulary. Science notes at the end. Grades PS-2.

This children;s books has such incredibly beautiful, peaceful, inspiring photos that it would rival those in many adult coffee table photography books! I highly recommend it for adults and children alike.
