An excellent book for dog lovers. However, the plot line/mystery really leaves a ragged trail. The book written in the person of Chet, the dog, is wonderful prose and one almost can believe it contains a dog's thoughts. As Chet would say, "...you can bet the ranch on that!"

Another hit from Spencer Quinn. I love the series and the perspective. Can't wait for the next one.

Once again the dog's viewpoint is a lot of fun. Bernie and Chet swing by Washington on their way home from their last case in Louisiana. This adventure involves drones, spies, politics and Bernie's girlfriend, Suzie, burrowing into secrets in hopes of getting the Big Scoop that will get her out of writing feature articles and covering "women's" events for the Washington Post. Her curiosity is almost the death of herself and Bernie. However, that is not going to happen, is it? Everyone escapes in the most exciting manner possible, with a few surprises at the end; and Chet is enlightening us along the way with smells and sounds that the humans, inadequate as we are, don't notice.
