WHAT HAPPENED! The first novel to this story was so good and then this follow-up fell into the trap of trying to weave multiple timelines and versions of Thor into it. This seems to be a constant failing of Marvel and DC - JUST STAY IN ONE TIMELINE. "Avengers Thor" meets "Odin Thor" and then out of no where comes "Young Thor" .... it then tries to incorporate some bizarre twist about Gore's wife and son who aren't really real????

A continuation of the storyline that features three Thors from the past, present, and future against a dark threat. Jason Aaron certainly gets the epic sweep that the character deserves, and that comes across in how he writes Thor in three different ways- the brash and arrogant youth, the hero of the current day, and the king of a distant future. The art serves the story well.

Stumbles a bit with a backstory issue dedicated to the God Butcher's origins done by a different artist, then back to the cosmic awesomeness of the Aaron/Ribic collaboration.

I love Jason Aaron's Thor and maybe I should just leave it at that.
