If you like Phillipa Gregory's historical fiction, you'll probably like this book. It has similar themes of royal blood and court intrigue. Both authors write fascinating stories about kings, queens, and their noble subjects. I found that the elements of love -- between Nell and Sir Gabriel, and between Nell and her mother -- were what made this book stand out for me and kept me reading -- even more than the increasing danger Nell finds herself in.
