The Academy: Game on by Monica Seles is definitely one of my favourite books. Maya comes from a small town and doesnt know very much about anything other than tennis. She is so excited but nervous when she gets a scholarship to the Academy. A place where so many talented athletes come to do there thing and become a succesful athlete. Being a shclarship kid, Maya has a lot to prove about herself. When she arrives at the academy she finds herself focusing on stuff much different then tennis. Boys, Drama, Competition, Boys. And she is coming to decisions which make her sort out her priorities. I am a big fan of tennis as well as a big Monica Seles fan. I personally think that she did an excellent job on this book. It has a little bit of something for everybody. Even if you do not play tennis the way they talk about what it takes to be an athlete can relate to any body. Also the drama involved is your typical friend and boy girl drama that is entertaining to basically everyone. I read this book twice in less than a week, it was just that good. It also had so much humour in there it really surprised me. I was laughing so much. If I had to rate this book it would be a solid 5 star. There is definitely nothing at all that i would change bout his book. I really hope that this helped and I hope you enjoyed this book as much as I did.

This book was so intense and drama-filled, I loved it! You get to see the not-so-pretty side of Hollywood, and you start to feel an utter disgust as you see the personalities of some of these charectors. Something I didn't know when I started reading this, it is going to be a series, The Academy series. This is the first of them, so it does leave a cliff-hanger at the end. I can't wait to see what happens next. Sometimes, it can be a bit hard to follow, and can make your head spin, but I think any teenage girl/athlete would enjoy picking this one up!

Now Maya brightened. "Really? Yeah, sure, of course." Maya could only imagine what she could possibly do for Nicole King. Give her a kidney? Give her an alibi? Whatever it was, she'd do it.
