A childhood classic, loads of fun as an audiobook!
Fantastic read by David Walliams - great voices for each character. Sound effects help set the mood of the story. My Grade 1-er loves it.
One of those magical, funny stories that has the power to transform even the most reluctant reader into a veritable bookworm. The BFG is not your average bone-crunching, child-munching giant, and his adventures with the human girl Sophie are every bit as quirky and fun as you'd expect from a Roald Dahl story. The newly released audio book, narrated by David Williams, is particularly great. Be wary, though, of Dahl's flippant racism, particularly in the passages about the countries where the other giants do their munching.
