A job at Minute Maid Park in Houston? Done.
Being a foot and ankle model in Washington? Done.
A job as a Christmas-light-hanger? Done.
Psychic? In progress.
Shawn Spencer (actor James Roday) is a ‘psychic’ for the Santa Barbara Police Department. Of course, he’s not really psychic. His dad, Henry Spencer (actor Corbin Bernsen) taught Shawn how to be super-attentive when he was growing up. Using this gift, he decided to become a ‘psychic’ and make a profit from it after traveling all over taking on many different- and strange- jobs.
His friend and loyal ‘sidekick’ Gus (actor Dule Hills- also known as Magic Head, Chocolate Columbo, Knick-Knack, or Lavendar Gooms-to name a few- as Shawn often introduces him as anything except Gus) helps Shawn keep his ‘psychic’ cover for the police.
While the police department doesn't necessarily believe in psychics, as the number of Shawn’s case’s solved gets higher, so does their belief in him- even if some of them won’t admit it. Typically, Shawn and Gus work with Carlton Lassiter (actor Timothy Omundson)- a man who most definitely doesn't believe in Shawn’s psychic abilities, and won’t praise Shawn the way others will- and Juliet (Jules) O’hara (actor Maggie Lawson) who is much more impressed with Shawn’s psychic abilities then her partner is.
Together, Shawn and Gus use his so called 'psychic' abilities to solve cases and impress Chief Vick, as well as also keep their cover.

A show about a guy who pretends to be Psychic but is acutually a really good detective.
