This book is fascinating, thoughtful and important but not easy to review. Or for that matter, to read. I can certainly recommend it to anyone concerned about the confusion that exists today about changing sexual mores. Margaret Farley is an important Roman Catholic feminist theologian noted for her work in this field. From a review in Christian Century: “ Farley has the guts and the clarity of mind to give us a third alternative to ‘narrowly constituted moral systems and rules’ on the one hand and sexual chaos on the other.” She has been censured by Rome for her work and this book, but she also has had praise from RC theologians.
