In Pushover we see 46 year old Fred MacMurray long past his comic days and not yet found by Disney. Fred looks strong but those jowls, sagging chin, and flabby neck are not the stuff of screen idols to come but the sad result of aging men who just don't know it yet. He plays a corrupt policeman besotted with Kim Novak, and several hundred thousands of stolen bank money. As a result he murders several men before he himself gets hauled away with several bullets in his own body. This leads to loss of babe, job, and the money. But at least in 1954 we don't have to be watching the overuse of makeup artists showing blood and torn flesh and senseless gore.. Kim Novak was 21 and quite a babe. Lookout for babes with revealing clothing. They are more dangerous that high-tar cigarettes.
