Walter Bishop, what a character - Brilliant!

A wonderful series that has good X-Files bones, but one with the good sense that knew when to wrap itself up, and doing so in a satisfying way. Excellent production, brilliant casting, and a story concept that holds it together despite the holes and unanswered questions.

Great show. It's one of a few long series that didn't skip any episode. Very well written and excellent acting. It's amazing to see how far people's imagination can go, but meanwhile every blizzard case can somehow be explained scientifically. So for many moments, the cases look real. It might be, as long as human can open our minds very very widely...

Ridiculous fill-in-the-blank plots, plodding acting, all the obligatory fireworks: frantic chases, "special effects", explosions, pseudo-scientific discussions, explosions, iron jawed expressionless men incapable of smiling, explosions, etc., etc. This series is an excellent example of why I no longer watch TV. The high ratings are probably a result of viewers being so long deprived of intelligent, quality productions that they respond to the lesser of many, many evils.

In my opinion Fringe is the best TV series ever made. The story is amazing from the start but takes a certain gripping direction from the second series. This is the only series I have watched where I have enjoyed every single episode. Brilliant acted, especially John Noble as the eccentric Walter Bishop. If you have not seen this then borrow it! Kudos to JJ Abrams and all the wonderful writers.

Absolutely the most wonderful show I have ever seen. And it's not the usual teen garbage; it's scientific, well- planned, and beautifully acted out. Great job, JJ Abrams! (and cast, with whom I am obsessed)

If you like series such as “The X-Files”, you will probably enjoy this show. The writing is good and most of the episodes can be watched on their own (without knowing what happened in previous episodes). My only hang-up with “Fringe” is Broyles’ secrecy, which is all too often simply counterproductive to Olivia’s mission. Really, who needs a boss like him?

The convergence of the production of telelvision shows about "fringe" thinking and thought? How did this happen? Was it not much more than television writers needed something to make television about that allowed them to make it up as they went along? And just string the audience along muttering stuff about "the conspiracy," or "the pattern"? Just wondering, as I quite like "Fringe." It can be fun. Just don't think that it's about anything but television, please.

The Boston metropolitan area and NYC are the main locations for season one of Fringe. Science fact as well as fringe science are intertwined in a complex drama relating to "the pattern". The pattern events are strange, frightening and gory occurences that are investigated by the Fringe Division of the FBI. Agent Olivia Dunham, Dr. Walter Bishop and his son Peter Bishop are the main characters and part of the Fringe team.Their investigations and scientific research usually involve Massive Dynamic, a large defense contractor, and a group of rogue scientists in a terrorist network called ZFT.The Fringe team ultimately develops a theory that Massive Dynamic, ZFT and the pattern events are somehow connected to a parallel universe that is beginning to merge with our existing universe. All of the series' strange events lead to the possiblity that only one universe will survive. Overall Fringe is great science fiction and drama with some comic relief from the quirky but brilliant Dr. Walter Bishop.
