Not an easy movie to watch, as a young man descends into drug induced hell.

Very typical of the demise of young people during that era because of drugs.
Jim Carroll was an extremely talented person caught in a world that he became maladjusted to in order to survive.
The book goes into greater detail of the dangers that lurk our streets everyday

Excellent portrail of how ones life can quickly be consumed by drug use! And how the drug use can ruin ones life.

Very intense, highly recommended.

Really good movie stayed true to the book, and is a really deep and true story. That takes you onto the mind of a young writer during his dark period. DiCaprio's performance is beautiful.

one of the best movies i have ever seen. sountrack is awesome!
