nice pictures, the story is OK. But the soup sounds completely awful - fit for pigs
(not for humans for sure, and I doubt that bears will go for it either). And what is wrong with turnips and potatoes washed in soapy water? Why do they throw them into garbage, when it is easy to wash them in clean water, peel them and they will be just fine?

Love this book. Sweet story about a young boy and his dad and older brother who make soup for his mom and her brand new baby. The dynamic of the younger brother who is teased (good naturedly) and told he's too young but who knows Mom's secret for making soup taste good.

The last scene in which the youngest son meets his even younger branch new baby brother is just right.
