In Agatha Christie's classic, Five Little Pigs, beloved detective Hercule Poirot races to solve a case from out of the past.

Beautiful Caroline Crale was convicted of poisoning her husband, but just like the nursery rhyme, there were five other "little pigs" who could have done it: Philip Blake (the stockbroker), who went to market; Meredith Blake (the amateur herbalist), who stayed at home; Elsa Greer (the three-time divorc#65533;e), who had her roast beef; Cecilia Williams (the devoted governess), who had none; and Angela Warren (the disfigured sister), who cried all the way home.

Sixteen years later, Caroline's daughter is determined to prove her mother's innocence, and Poirot just can't get that nursery rhyme out of his mind.

Once again, Agatha Christie proves that she is the greatest mystery writer of all time with "Five Little Pigs", one of her most ingenious books. The premise is interesting and was so good, Christie basically reused it for "Elephants Can Remember". Also, you'll never guess who the killer is, so happy-guessing!

Well, this novel is soooooo interesting and mysterious! I'm sure that everyone will like it and I'm happy that (omitted) was the killer because I had hated them since I started reading the novel because they are soo mean and don't care for people's feelings. When you read the novel you be happy, like me, to know that they deserve what happens to them at the end. The thing that I liked most in the novel is Angela's love for her sister Caroline even though Caroline made her half-blind. Angela forgives her after she finds out how Caroline was feeling very regretful for what she did. She treated her as best as she could and she was always on her side when Angela pranked him and he was feeling jealous over Angela... This novel is great and I recommend it for the Crime, Mysterious and Romantic books lovers. I give this novel 8.5/10

Interesting concept and interesting story. I think I liked the novel better than the recreation from PBS "Mystery: Poirot" version. As always, my suspicions as to who the murderer was completely blew me out of the water and I could NOT believe who the murderer really was. THAT is why I love Agatha Christie!! If I remember correctly, the novel is a tad bit different than the series show--just a bit, but, enough. Another Christie that, imho, everyone should read. Plenty of twists and turns, as usual.

It's Agatha Christie - as soon as you start reading it carefully, you realize how awkward a lot of the dialogue is, and how antiquated the phrasing, but still, there's nothing quite like curling up on a chair with a cup of tea and pulling one of these out. Classic.

This book kept me guessing all the way through, and the final scene was both shocking and satisfying.

Interesting format in that Poirot asks those who knew and were "present" at a friend's murder 16 years prior, to write down their personal feelings about the others who were at the estate and, to write down their personal observations leading up to the unusual poisoning death of a talented and egotistical self-centered artist.

Poirot is asked to solve a poisoning that took place 16 years ago. A famous artist was poisoned, and his wife went to prison, where she died. Their daughter insists her mother was innocent. Poirot interviews 5 people who were at the scene, and we read 5 different versions of the event. Each one of them seems guilty, and Poirot solves the mystery in classic fashion. I enjoy the logic of Christie's plots.
