"With an outsized passion for fun, Jennifer Paterson and Clarissa Dickson Wright take cooking and conversation to places where ordinary food shows dare not go. These eccentric dames crisscross the British Isles on their Triumph Thunderbird motorcycle and sidecar, preparing sumptuous feasts for all manner of folks, from lumberjacks to teenage lacrosse players. They shun faddish, health-conscious fare in favor of big old-fashioned flavor, usually enhanced by bacon, cream and butter ..."

Well they're politically incorrect and most of their food looks unappetizing, but they are great fun to watch. They had character. Nowadays, too many food shows are helmed by people who look good but really don't have that much experience in the kitchen and it shows. These women are hugely entertaining. Come for the food, stay for the ladies.

I give this a four star rating. I seem to remember hearing about this show when it came out. I guess my ex-mother in law thought it was a hoot. I think I saw one episode when it was on. I thought it was funny, but I was working, so I couldn't watch a lot of good British tv shows that were being shown during the morning and early afternoons. I stumbled across the dvd set, thinking it was season one. Had no idea that it was all three seasons. I thought they'd have more shows than they did. And then i found out that Jennifer got cancer, I'm guessing while filming the last season, and died that year. How sad. She was a great lady. I watched her biography in the Special Features section of the DVD collection, and all I could think was I wish I was like her. To one reviewer who said the show was disgusting because there was just too much carnivore gluttony without thinking about the wealthfare of the animals, well, pooh on you!! Not all of us are vegetarians, nor do some people even want to be. Please be respectful of other peoples' right to eat meat if they want. Why do vegetarians and vegans think their way of eating is the only way to eat and everyone who doesn't adhere and believe that are just horrible people. For that reviewer, I say, don't watch this show again and move on with life. It was a good show, although, I doubt if I would ever cook that food. The meat alone would cost about half of my husband's pay check. So sad that the two fat ladies are gone now. I really enjoyed the show and even if you don't use the recipes, it was a delight to watch them cook and the banter and most importantly, be an arm chair traveler since I'm never going to be able to go to Britain or Scotland or Ireland, so I got to see it on the screen.

I didn't want to give this video a one-star because I do think some people would enjoy it. That said -- there was way too much carnivore enjoyment and I found it disgusting (toe tall no thought about health/animals). The ladies had a nice personality but the script was obviously contrived.

I give this five stars just because I absolutely love Jennifer, the woman is a cut up and to see her on her bike alone is worth watching this series. I don't like Clarissa, she comes across as being very critical, especially anyone or any place that is purely downright NOT british! To hear her talk about her mom, I can see where she gets her snobbery. I have to say though for the most part the food (not all of it) looks so very good. A lot on the heavy side as brits seem to eat heavy foods, some of it would take days to digest. Love you Jen, miss you so much and wish this series could have continued.

I watched all the series, and I really was entertained watching 2 fat ladies travel to different locations. Im hoping to find more programs but I only saw 4 discs.
