Screaming funny through most of the book. Typical Denis Leary witty sarcasm. I enjoyed the book and was surprised with who he seemed to respect/admire.

Nicely written and entertaining read. Keep in mind that the author's language at times is a little out there.
I found that I feel very deeply about issues that Denis Leary writes about, and honestly speaking, if one didn't laugh at the observations that the author makes, one would cry in shame and rage!

lol; a riot to read

Relatively predictable for anyone who's ever heard Dr. Leary before, but still a pretty enjoyable read. Angry, profanity-laced, and carefully constructed to make sure that something in the book offends every single reader, Why We Suck is by turns memoir, self-help guide, social criticism, and good old fashioned rant (plus recipes - don't miss those!). Most surprising: the genuine reverence Leary has for Oprah Winfrey and what she is able to get done from her unique position in our culture. Following only the "Irish Trinity" of Kennedy, Jesus, and Dad (plus of course his mother and his wife), Oprah appears to round out Leary's top 6 most respected people. If you like your social criticism with a heavy dose of sarcasm (and the more-than-occasional mention of the Bruins and the Red Sox), and you're able to laugh at yourself, Why We Suck is a fun way to spend a couple of hours.

Offensive & hilarious, I enjoyed it for the most part. Not the best writing style, a lot of repeated arguments, but overall, a humorous look at the major problems in American culture.

I love Denis Leary and just spent my time at work laughing my butt off while reading his rants. This is one man I would definitely vote for if he were to run for office. Maybe then something would get done to help the everyday person and not just the fatcats.
