She writes from within the Ojibwe experience and makes a dramatic tale very believable and compelling.
A native woman vows to get back the land which a lumber baron has taken from her and her people. However, revenge is not as simple as it first seems, as Fleur becomes attached to the family she has threatened to destroy. The writing is exquisite, the story entertaining and the spirit of the book intensely moving.
As usual another great read. Louise is wonderful with the English language.
