It's easy to let Bobby Fischer's erratic and offensive behavior obscure his chess career. Even if you only have a casual interest in the game, this book is an enthralling, swift, and dramatic tale of two oddball geniuses clashing in one of the most celebrated matches of the 20th century. The authors also emphasize the cold war background, giving the book a vivid cultural context. There's also the documentary "Bobby Fischer Against the World."
