Loved it. Saw it when it came out and enjoyed it even more this time.

This is a 1997 British comedy directed by Peter Cattaneo.
Set in Sheffield, England and starting off with a travelogue of the city in 1972, six unemployed men decide to form a male striptease act in order to gather enough money to get somewhere else.
Gaz, main character, declares that their show will be better than the Chippendales dancers because they will go "the full monty"---strip all the way---hence the film's title.
Despite being a comedy, the film also touches on serious subjects such as unemployment, fathers' rights, depression, impotence, homosexuality, obesity, working class culture and suicide.

One of my favorites with a great cast, funny & realistically portrayed Sheffield UK.

I saw this when it first came out and loved it then. It still holds its own as a funny movie, great story and a definite good watch.

Such a fun movie! I couldn't even understand some of it, but it was great.

Not as funny as expected. I remember it was classified when it came out as a type of "sleeper hit".

Hilarious. Robert Carlyle is particularly amazing here, but all of the acting is superb in a script that is funny, sad, touching, believable, richly human, and perfect. A must-see.

Enjoyable movie. Very entertaining, but I think I would have liked it better if I has seen it when it first came out. Seems like the premise has been done in other films (i.e. out of work and need to find a new source of income), but it may, in fact, have been done here first. Still funny, but I suspect not as much as when it was released.

Six unemployed steel workers form a male striptease act. The women cheer them on to go for "the full monty" - total nudity.

I'm a big fan of Robert Carlyle so that is what got me to see this movie that I would usually pass over. And I was absolutely shocked by how much I actually enjoyed it. The acting is good and the story is hilarious. I would recommend this to fans of off beat comedies.

Police officer: Gary, my friend, no bugger robs pipes in the buff.
Gaz: We do. Don't get your clothes dirty, do you?
Police officer: Oh well, don't fret, gents. There's a right good laundry in Wakefield Prison!
