Media consultant Veronica St. John is asked by the government to teach a rugged Navy SEAL to impersonate a European prince who's been targeted by terrorists. When she meets Lieutenant Joe Catalanotto, everything about him says regular guy--not royalty. As impossible as the task seems, Veronica's biggest problem with "Prince Joe" is the way he makes her want to slap his arrogant face--then kiss him senseless. (May) Copyright © Libri GmbH. (5 stars) I absolutely love this story. Shoot, I love the whole TDD series and Brockmann is one of my favorite authors. I first discovered her through this story when it appeared in the Blogger's Favorites ebook put out by Harlequin. I admit to being afraid that it wouldn't hold up after having read so many of her later books, but it's still great. It's a relief to have a female character who isn't flipping out about a guy hashing out his entire life history. They are both happy to observe how the other lives in the present and fall in love with that. They verge on being too perfect as individuals, but ultimately they feel and act real.
