i was interested in many aspects of Cybill as she wrote about her southern gothic childhood, the making of the last picture show, her close friendship with orson welles, and the tyranny of beauty (she had to go without glasses for the longest because boys don't make passes at girls who wear glasses). she is a strong, bright woman who has endured a lot of criticism, a fact borne out by a library patron who disturbingly defaced several of the photographs and crossed out the word "reproductive" in a caption that read "women's reproductive rights."
