wonderful story

A wonderful book by an amazing author. Bradshaw has done excellent historical research once again. Island of Ghosts introduced me to the Sarmatians in Britain - something I knew nothing about. Each of Bradshaw's books is a gem of historical fiction.

I enjoy historical fiction and especially those from the Roman period so I was excited to read this one as it dealt with allies of Rome not just the usual legionary tales. I could barely get thorugh 100 pages this book was so boring and droned on and on about nothing. The Roman characters are made to be complete morons and one wonders how they could muster the intelligence to conquer the known world... I would not read this book or any works by this person.
