One of those books that leaves you with more questions than answers...Unnerving is putting it mildly - this is one disturbed tale. I wanted to stop reading it, but found that I couldn't..
Spark turns the classic murder mystery on its head in this highly experimental short novel. Making every word count, Spark builds a creeping sense of dread and anxiety as the story moves towards the inevitable tragedy. Despite Spark's careful literary craftsmanship, my enjoyment of the tale was dampened because the main character, Lise, is completely insane which makes her actions within the story seem almost random and ultimately meaningless.
