An engaging and comprehensive biography of one of my favorite authors. Things I learned: Heyer's work really is as awesome as I thought; she was a driven writer with a pasion for historical research - what I wouldn't give to see her card file of period slang!; she was a very private person. I liked this author's assessment of how Heyer's plotting and characters matured as she did, and examples of how barristers featured more prominently in her work after her husband became one, and how one of her books was "published simultaneously with her son."
