If this were a spy novel, it would seem to be too over-the-top in some of the details (especially the location of the target) to seem realistic. That it is a history just proves that truth is, at times, stranger than fiction.
This book describes the series of attempts undertaken by various Allied forces during WWII to destroy the heavy water supplies being produced in Norway for potential use by the German atomic research program.
Every part of this book is very interesting. Read it if WWII, espionage, or heroism are of interest to you.
