What was done to this sentient creature - and its relatives - is something every human should be ashamed of, forever. I hope this film is introduced into evidence in the court of our final judgment. How could anyone justify stealing the…

"Dont' buy a ticket!" This informative and absolutely heartbreaking documentary reveals the violent reality of orca capture and the inhumane lives they live in captivity in such places as Seaworld and the like. It's clear with what we now…

Eyeopening- I have watched this film 3 times and am still brought to tears and disbelief. Hopefully the horrific practice of keeping whales in captivity becomes a thing of the past. This is an important film to watch.

Stunning - not easy to watch but very necessary. It is not at all surprising when animals that have been kept in captivity suddenly rebel and do something seemingly out of their nature. But it is their nature! It's the equivalent of…

What an incredible documentary. This doc explains in no uncertain terms why working with orcas is a terrible idea, for both the humans and the whales. The movie is barely eighty minutes but it doesn't need any longer to make its undeniable…

Throwing different species and families of mammals together is like throwing Crypts and Bloods in together. Imagine keeping you or your children in a fishbowl on your desk, fed only upon command and spun to make money for a large…

This is a 83-minute documentary about intelligent marine animals in captivity produced in 2013. Killer whales are beloved majestic, friendly giants yet infamous for their capacity to kill men viciously. Tilikum, a performing orca at Sea…

This is a great movie, makes me soooo mad though. Humans without compassion just for money.

You will never look at animals in captivity the same way. An important documentary, and one that has already changed the world: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/nov/08/seaworld-cost-cutting-strategy-profit-decline-blackfish

Trust me: you will not be able to look away from this controversial film.

I will never go to another aquarium again. The sheer explanations of what must go through these beautiful animals minds. Its a wonder that there are not so many more unfortunate attacks on the trainers...As beautiful as these near…

I felt this would be a fitting documentary to watch, being that as of today, 3/17/2016, SeaWorld is ending their orca breeding program, and eventually phasing out their killer whale shows/captivity when the last incarcerated poor souls…

This was so difficult to watch--but incredibly necessary! I grew up in the Orlando area and always enjoyed Sea World as a child. It's just really hard to believe HOW they obtained their animals; AND what happens to them after they arrive.…

Shocking and deeply moving documentary about the ugly truths that lie behind Sea World. It really makes you care about and connect with the majestic orcas in captivity, who deserve to be with their families roaming free. Really glad I got…

Previous comments mention that this is "one sided" BUT it really NEEDS to be one-sided. If you go to YouTube & look up Dr. Ingrid Visser, who is an expert in all things Orca, you can find some of her talks (as well as some by John…

Keeping orcas in captivity for the sake of turning a profit has long been a contentious issue but in Gabriela Cowperthwaite’s scathing documentary on the effects of that captivity it becomes tantamount to a crime against nature. Armed…

This movie is only one sided and doesn't look at what SeaWorld does as a whole! (This also applies to Vanaqua) SeaWorld rescues and rehabilitates animals in need. Blackfish is actually mostly lies, and says that SeaWorld is bad. SeaWorld…

Questions for ThomasjWhiting: Even more than elephants ??? Why disregard other animals ? On what principle? Don't you think that all animals have some degree of intelligence and all should live free ?

Even more than elephants, orcas should not be kept in captivity, and especially not as part of carnival theatrics.

This is a good film. Unfortunately, one sided. Hopefully people that run the aquariums and marine centers can learn from this and better the conditions of the animals currently held in captivity. There have been many attempts to integrate…

This movie is awesome and sad

I found it sad and eye opening to see how something like animal water parks make their money while turning a blind eye to tragic mistakes made along the way. Like the movies and news reporting that educated us on under world sweat shops…
