“Eldest” by Christopher Paolini is the second book in the “Inheritance Cycle” series, and it picks up three days after the end of the first book, “Eragon.” Eragon Shadeslayer and his dragon Saphira have grown to understand one another and…

I loved this book. I do agree with people that Eragon was rather bland as a character in the first book but his personality fleshes out a bit in Eldest. Once again, Paolini delivers that world building and plot we love. It is also…

This is the peak of the inheritance series. The side plot with Roran, in retrospect, is probably one of the better plots in the book. Eragon finally has some sort of character, even if his affection for Arya is.... uncomfortable. The way…

The one in which the plot becomes even more blatantly Star Wars With Dragons. Still fine if you read it with your brain turned off, but Eragon's character arc is definitely not as fun as it should be.

This book was so much better than I remembered. Eragon still makes me so irritated and all of his training is pretty boring. Despite that Nasuada and Roran really make this book. They are both such cool characters and so inspiring and…

Eldest was a good book, the plot was well thought out but the execution of the plot took forever, so be patient! This book was SO long, it took me at least a month to read it, not because it was boring but because it was a lot of…

Interesting that the book is divided in two storylines, even if it's nothing new and one of them continues to be a star wars-like plot. There are good and innovative ways to see and explain how the Magic works though. The end reveals…

The second book of the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini continues to follow the story of Eragon following the battle of Tronjheim. Hoping to have the elves assist in the removal of Galbatorix, the human king, Eragon leaves with the…
Before I get started, I think you should know that writing this review for Eldest was challenging. It’s not because there isn’t much to say about it, or that I can’t explain why I like/dislike it. It’s because it’s the book equivalent of…

The second part of Inheritance continues the story of Eragon with new heroes. Follow not only Eragon, but his cousin Roran in this fantastic adventure.

Better than the last book for sure, with better character development. The whole "brother turning against him" thing has been overused, but since Murtagh has more depth than most of the "evil brothers" of literature, this can work. The…

The pace was much slower than the first book. There were significant portions that I think really could have been trimmed down. Eragon's descriptions of the dwarven and elven cultures and…
Well, the first book was really good but Eldest just dropped my expectations to rock-bottom. Firstly, the Twins' and Murtaugh's disappearance is way too brief. Oh yes, one paragraph should do it. Secondly, Eragon's infatuation with Arya.…

Eldest is the second book in the Eragon Quintilogy and it’s everything and more you would want in a sequel to such a grand book. In Eldest we don’t just see things from Eragon's perspective, but his cousin’s as well, as both struggle to…

Amazing ending! I mean Wow! It totally blew me off but I guess that's why the book's called " Eldest " with a red dragon as the cover xD. The chapters on Eragon were extremely boring which literally made me somewhat skim over the words and…
I read the first book years ago and I still love them manny years later. Can't wait for book five! I still love Lord of the rings and star wars. The eragon/ inheritance series will always hold a special place in my heart.
